Financial Compliance – Robert Chuey

Robert Chuey serves as the senior compliance advisor to the West Virginia University Division of Finance. Chuey has been conducting Davis-Bacon compliance testing since 2006 initially as an auditor within the WVU Office of Internal Audit and in his current position.

As a member of the WVU American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) Project Team, Chuey has provided training to principal investigators and administrators to ensure compliance with the Davis Bacon provisions of ARRA.

Prior to joining WVU, Chuey began his accounting career with Deloitte Haskins & Sells, a national public accounting firm and subsequently served as a senior auditor with the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO).

Chuey graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He was a Rhodes Scholar nominee and a ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate.

Thereafter, he served as a commissioned officer and authored an Air Force regulation on host-tenant logistical support agreements for the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Pentagon.
Chuey has earned advanced degrees in law (J.D.) and in business administration (MBA).
