Senior Associate Vice President for Finance

Dan Durbin joined WVU’s Finance Division in 2006 and currently serves as the University’s senior associate vice president for finance. His responsibilities for the central finance division include institutional accounting, reporting, procurement, payment services, revenue services, risk management, grants accounting, payroll, and financial compliance, which are staffed by 190 employees. Durbin also serves as the treasurer for the WVU Research Corporation, a WVU subsidiary designed to facilitate research.

Durbin previously held financial and administrative leadership positions at the WVU Health Sciences Center, functioning as its director of budget and financial operations.

He has more than 25 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, and fiscal management, in both land-grant university and comprehensive academic health center settings. Durbin also gained governmental accounting and auditing experience as legislative auditor for the West Virginia Joint Committee on Government and Finance.

Durbin earned a master’s degree in public administration from WVU and a bachelor’s degree from Glenville State College with concentrations in accounting and finance and a minor in economics.
