Sr. Associate Vice President

As the Senior Associate Vice President for Finance, Weiss oversees; Institutional Accounting, Reporting and Analysis; Treasury Operations; Tax Services; Risk Management and Insurance; Cost and Compliance; Property Management; Payroll; and Administrative Financial Planning. Weiss also provides oversight to all financial functions of the university’s regional campuses and serves as the Treasurer of the WVU Research Corporation.

In her role as the University's principal hands-on financial and accounting officer, Weiss is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the university’s overall financial health, the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve university assets, reporting accurate financial results, aligning the allocation of resources with the university’s strategic priorities, monitoring adherence to budget, and developing long-term financial and operational strategies.

Weiss has worked in finance for more than 30 years. She has significant experience in several areas including long-range strategic planning, financial analysis, planning and reporting, revenue cycle management and regulatory compliance. Weiss holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State University and a master’s degree in health care administration, business administration from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah.
